The Gettysburg Battlefield Monument

One of my trips included going to this very historical place in Pennsylvania. It commemorates the Battle of Gettysburg which is one of the biggest and deadliest single battle of the American Civil War. The place is huge and had lots of monument which I haven’t had time to actually read everything written on it. I just took lots of pictures and decided to just research it later on. I most like the architecture and structures of monuments there. I still have to learn more about the history though. 😉

The Griffith Observatory

The Griffith Observatory

I was very lucky to be able to go to an observatory since I love looking at the stars and trying to figure out the constellations. As I went at daytime, I really didn’t get a chance to see it first hand; but seeing everything inside is fortunate enough. So, as you see in the picture, that’s me and the observatory behind me. Lots of people were jogging over there and like me, there were lots of tourists too.

The Griffith Observatory, from what I have learned during my day trip there, is one of the most popular attractions in California. It’s located at Mount Hollywood and overlooks the Hollywood sign on the other side of the mountain. You would also see Los Angeles City’s top view (which I think is really cool). It is named after Col. Griffith who donated the land for its stature. Exhibits inside includes the planets, stars, moons, discoveries, telescopes, and more about astronomy. It’s also a famous place for filming movies including Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.

I would go there once again, if given the chance, to see meteor showers and see the constellations at night. 😉

Georgetown

One of the interesting things I have gone to is Georgetown in Washington D.C. It’s a historic neighborhood and both a commercial and entertainment district. Me, my mom and my aunt have been to the shops and restaurants and it’s very beautiful, both in the morning and night. I like the night more than the day time since I see more people and it’s more interesting. Maybe going there during the day is a good way to breathe, refresh and relax.

The picture shows the PNC bank at the intersection of Wisconsin Avenue and M Street. Lots of high-end shops and restaurants are situated there and it’s also the home of Georgetown University (where I really like the sunset over there) and the Old Stone House. Some famous persons who lived in Georgetown are Thomas Jefferson, Alexander Bell, Francis Key and John F. Kennedy. Many movies were also filmed at Georgetown.
